TSRTC Free Bus for Ladies 2024
According to TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar’s statement on Wednesday, women passengers have responded unexpectedly to Telangana’s free bus travel initiative, which is part of the Maha Lakshmi programme. Sajjanar clarified that all female passengers riding in buses must present their actual identity card, stating that many were bringing photocopies of their cards. To avoid paying for any tickets on buses, TSRTC staff would ask women to present their original Aadhaar, voter ID, driver’s licence, or any other card issued by the federal or state governments. Photocopies displayed on smartphones will not be accepted for free travel.
Travellers who identify as women must make sure their ID card photos are visible. The MD has declared that, in response to the growing rush, the TSRTC administration has chosen to add 2050 new buses to the fleet. He stated that for the following four to five months, the new buses will be introduced gradually. 1000 electrical buses and 1050 diesel buses will also be launched.
